About me

After graduating with a degree in Computer Science, I decided to pursue my passion for programming. I took a QA role with Irish Life that involved some development work in C# and then transitioned into a RPA Developer role with Paddy Power. My favorite part of programming is the problem-solving aspect. I love the feeling of finally figuring out a solution to a problem. My core stack is Python, Django, MySQL. I am also familiar with C# and React. I am always looking to learn new technologies, FastAPI being the most recent. I am currently looking for a full-time position as a software developer.

When I'm not coding, I enjoy playing video games, hiking, mountain biking, and playing with my dog. I recently spent 18 months travelling Southeast Asia and Australia where I learned all about the rich history while immersing myself in the local culture. I also enjoy learning new things and I'm planning to start learning the piano in the coming months.

I developed a website for practicing Irish Road Signs in preparation for the driving test. There was no such tool available when I was studying for my test so I was inspired to build it myself.

I graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree. I immediately found a job as a IT Technician.

2015 - 2019

IT Technician

Irish Life

I performed both QA and software development work while in this role. I developed web applications that were hosted internally using C# and ASP.Net. I also done automation with Selenium and API testing using SoapUI.

2019 - 2021

RPA Developer

Paddy Power Betfair

I worked as the sole RPA developer for the Retail department using UiPath with VB.Net. My automations are actively running in over 600+ retail shops across the UK and Ireland.

2021 - 2023

Travel - Career Break

Asia and Australia

After working for 4 years since graduating, I decided to take a year out to go travelling in South East Asia and Australia starting in April 2023.
